Advanced Weekend Masterclass (12 Hours Total)

Schedule: Day 1 & Day 2 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

DAY 1: Alignment, Tethering & High-End Beauty

  • Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

    • 09:00 - 9:30: Baseline Alignment & Studio Exposure

      • Getting everyone on the same page: Deep dive into the Exposure Triangle in a controlled studio environment

      • Precision camera settings, ISO baselines, flash sync limits, and ambient cut-off

    • 9:30 to 10:30 Posing your subject

    • 10:30 - 11:00: Tethered Capture Workflow

      • Setting up Capture One / Lightroom for live client/studio monitoring

      • Key advantages of shooting tethered: Instant focus verification on a large screen, accurate color assessment, real-time lighting evaluation, and enhanced client collaboration

    • 11:00 - 12:00: Demystifying Clamshell Lighting

      • Deconstructing the classic beauty setup: Key light placement, fill sources (flex-out, silver, or softbox), catchlights, and fall-off control

  • Lunch Break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)

  • Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

    • 01:00 - 04:00: Hands-On Clamshell & Beauty Shoot

      • Intensive 3-hour tethered shoot with a professional model

      • Direct instructor guidance on tweaking light angles, reflector distances, and directing micro-expressions

DAY 2: Advanced Editorial & Creative Lighting Concepts

  • Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

    • 09:00 - 10:00: Editorial Lighting Concepts (Part 1)

      • Concept building, mood boards, hard vs. soft directional light, and using modifiers (grids, snoots, gobos) for dramatic storytelling

    • 10:00 - 12:00: Hands-On Editorial Shoot (Part 1)

      • 2-hour practical shooting session with a model executing dramatic/high-contrast editorial setups

  • Lunch Break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)

  • Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

    • 01:00 - 02:00: Editorial Lighting Concepts (Part 2)

      • Advanced creative techniques: Gel lighting harmony, background separation, and mixing continuous/strobe light

    • 02:00 - 04:00: Hands-On Editorial Shoot (Part 2)

      • 2-hour creative execution with a model utilizing gels, mixed light, and multi-light editorial rigs
